A vehicle purchase can begin with a video, continue with a search query and end in a conversation. The customer experiences one decision, even when the marketing reports divide it into several channels. That is the challenge behind omnichannel discovery.
Follow the question, not the platform trend
Different services organise discovery differently. YouTube describes relevance, engagement and quality among its search considerations. TikTok also offers search advertising, with availability and features dependent on the market. AI interfaces add conversational research to that mix.
The answer is not automatically to join every platform. Start by identifying the questions customers ask, how they prefer to research them and where your team can produce something useful consistently.
Map a realistic dealership journey
An illustrative journey might begin with a short vehicle walkaround on Instagram or Facebook. A longer YouTube comparison could answer practical questions. A Google or Microsoft search might help the customer find nearby availability, while a map listing supplies opening hours and directions.
Each asset should offer a sensible next step. A comparison can lead to current inventory; a vehicle page can invite an availability question or test-drive request. Where appropriate, a Meta campaign can support a WhatsApp conversation, provided somebody is ready to respond.
Keep the underlying facts consistent across those touchpoints. Prices, availability, location details and offer conditions should not contradict one another. Adapt the presentation to each channel instead of copying the same block of text everywhere.
Connect the reporting to the customer
Several platforms may claim influence over the same conversion. Adding every reported result together can overstate what happened. Use consistent campaign naming and CRM records to understand the enquiry, remove duplicates and follow its progress.
Attribution remains imperfect, especially when someone watches a video, researches through an AI tool and later makes a direct enquiry. Combine platform reporting with CRM outcomes and the questions your sales team hears. Treat each source as a partial view.
My priority is a manageable channel mix that produces useful leads. Start with a few customer questions, assign a suitable format and destination to each, and review where people move forward or get stuck. Expand when the evidence and team capacity support it.
Let’s connect your search and social activity around the customer’s next decision.
